Covington, Kentucky born, Samuel T. Phillips began writing at a young age, and by thirteen became well aware of the skill. Published in an anthology of young Poets entitled Wellsprings in 2002, this was followed by honorable mention in Cincinnati’s arts competition for Poetry in the 2003 Overture Awards. Attending Northern Kentucky University, he studied English Literature and Creative Writing while minoring in Irish, African, and African-American History. In 2009 Phillips graduated with a Bachelors in the Arts and has since been a prolific Writer and advocate of Spoken Word in his community. Before moving to Denver, CO from 2012-2014 to complete his first non-fiction novel, Phillips was invited to speak at the 2012 TEDx Cincinnati presentation sharing the work, TAKE UP THE TASK.
Samuel resides in Seattle where he focuses on a bildungsroman novella of skateboarding the cities of the Midwest, a collection of short stories, always poetry, and copy-editing his first completed novel.
